How to File a Warranty Claim
If you believe your e-bike has a defect covered by this warranty, please follow these steps:
- Contact us via email at info@ridstaar.it.com or through the contact form available on our Contact Us page. Include your order number, the product name, a detailed description of the issue, and clear photo or video evidence showing the problem.
- Our customer service team will review your submission and respond within 2 business days. We may ask you to perform some simple diagnostic tests (e.g., checking battery voltage with a multimeter) to help us identify the root cause.
- Once your claim is approved, we will ship the replacement part(s) to you at no charge. In some cases, we may ask you to return the defective part to our warehouse for inspection. If a return is required, we will provide you with a prepaid shipping label for that specific part.
- For complex issues, we may authorize a repair at a local bike shop up to a pre‑approved amount (typically $200). Such authorization must be obtained in writing from us before you proceed with any paid repair.
What We Cover
Under this warranty, we will:
- Replace defective components with new or factory‑refurbished parts, at our discretion.
- Cover shipping costs for replacement parts sent to you.
- Provide a prepaid return label for any parts we ask you to send back.
- Reimburse authorized repair costs up to the approved amount, provided you have our prior written consent.
All warranty service is performed at our expense, and you will not be charged any handling or restocking fees for covered claims.
What Is Not Covered
This warranty does not cover damage or failures resulting from:
- Normal wear and tear – parts that naturally degrade with use, such as tires, brake pads, cables, chains, grips, and spokes.
- Improper assembly, installation, or adjustment performed by the customer or an unauthorized third party.
- Accidents, collisions, falls, or impacts sustained during riding or transportation.
- Misuse, neglect, or abuse – including overloading, stunt riding, off‑road use beyond the bike’s design, or submerging in water.
- Modifications or alterations to the e‑bike that are not approved by Ridstaar.
- Use of incompatible or aftermarket parts that cause damage to the original components.
- Failure to perform regular maintenance as recommended in the owner’s manual.
- Damage caused by external factors such as fire, flood, lightning, or other natural disasters.
- Shipping damage – if your bike arrives damaged, you must report it to us within 7 days of delivery to be covered under our shipping damage policy (which is separate from this warranty).
Additionally, this warranty is void if the e‑bike is used for commercial purposes (such as rental, delivery, or fleet operations) without our prior written consent.
Claim Denials and Disputes
If your warranty claim is denied, we will provide you with a written explanation. You may appeal the decision by providing additional evidence or documentation. If we still determine that the issue is not covered, you are responsible for any shipping costs incurred to return the bike or parts to you.
Replacement and Repair Procedures
- For part replacements, we will ship the new part to you, and you are responsible for installing it. Installation instructions are available upon request.
- If a full bike replacement is deemed necessary (which occurs only in rare cases), you must return the original bicycle to our facility at our expense, and we will send a new unit after inspection.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ridstaar’s total liability under this warranty is limited to the replacement or repair of the defective product. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including but not limited to loss of use, loss of time, or personal injury.
Governing Law
This Warranty Policy is governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under this warranty shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Virginia.
